She/Her

Maddie Ostergaard graduated with a degree in Exercise Science from Eastern Oregon University, where she also captained the Women’s Soccer Team. That’s where her interest in injury rehab and the body’s ability to heal really took root. After college, she knew she wanted to explore healing work beyond the typical athletic training route. She moved to Portland in 2017 and started working as a Chiropractic Assistant at a clinic that focused on motor vehicle accidents. While it gave her a solid intro to healthcare, the clinic’s focus on billing over actual patient care left her wanting something more meaningful. It pushed her toward her goal of offering care that’s inclusive, supportive, and truly centered on the client.

From there, she spent a couple of years at a physical therapy clinic rooted in osteopathic principles, which reignited her passion for hands-on healing. When the pandemic hit, she took a break from healthcare and spent two summers working on a flower farm on Vashon Island, WA. The physical work and time spent outdoors reconnected her with the rhythms of the body and nature—and helped her realize how much she missed bodywork. Getting regular massage during that time was life-changing and helped her see how powerful it can be for both physical and mental well-being.

Maddie is a recent graduate of East West College of the Healing Arts, where she explored a blend of Eastern and Western healing styles. Her background in collegiate soccer and movement continues to shape her approach. She focuses on musculoskeletal support, pain relief, and helping clients feel more connected to their bodies. Her sessions are guided by intuitive care and active listening, and she tailors her work to the individual and how they are feeling on the day of their session. Nervous system regulation and fascial release are central to her approach, helping the body settle before going into deeper work. In her final term at East West, she studied structural bodywork, Tui Na and elements of Craniosacral therapy. A Structural Bodywork elective with Jay opened up a whole new way of seeing the body, and Maddie plans to continue that path with Structural Integration training in 2026 through the Inner Dynamics Academy (IDA-SI).

Outside of massage, Maddie works for a local tree company and loves learning about Portland’s urban canopy. She’s also built a small flower garden of her own and spends most of her free time outside—camping, hiking, swimming, soaking in hot springs and exploring with her puppy (Poppy).
